Too often, we get caught up in our differences and forget about the things that unite us. We may hail from different backgrounds with different ways of practising the religion, but as soon as Muslims enter a mosque, there is an immediate sense of kinship -- even between strangers! This Eid, I wanted to capture that beauty, and so I turned to Turkey for inspiration. There, I found the Sultan Ahmed Mosque - famously known as the Blue Mosque. Attracting over 3 million visitors each year from around the world, it is a beacon of unity. The intricacy of its architecture, its tiles, borders and calligraphy all played a part in inspiring this year’s Eid dUCk, or as I like to call it: The Unity dUCk.
Available in 10 gorgeous shades and crafted in our all-time favourite Satin Silk fabric, The Unity dUCk features a tiled backdrop inspired by the Blue Mosque, as well as the Eid Mubarak verse in Arabic script emblazoned across the scarf. And what is a dUCk scarf without a dUCk charm, but this time, the charm comes with a surprise twist - featuring 2 hanging tassels as a nod to Turkish culture. The tassels and charm can be hung on either side of the scarf according to the wearers’ liking.
